Hi I’m Kay and I am the owner behind KaysVintageEphemera. I opened my shop in early 2018, although it seems that plans for my vintage shop have been waiting in the wings for many years. As a compulsive collector of vintage stationery and ephemera, the transition into selling vintage paper items seems to have been my destiny!

I finally have the time to spend my days in my studio sifting through my collection of stationery, books and postcards to bring you a fabulous assortment of vintage and antique collectables and paper ephemera for your junk journals, scrapbooks and mixed media projects or items to add to your collections.

And it’s not just any old stationery, well actually, it is! The older the better, there is something about vintage stationery that really captures my heart and gives me the inspiration to create something new out of something old.

My passion with paper began at a young age, I’m proud to come from a time (not too distant, I might add!) when sending postcards home from faraway places was part and parcel of the whole family holiday experience. I always bought more than I needed, taking a small selection home to add to my collection.

My stash of stationery is particularly dominated by vintage pieces. I love the idea of giving vintage stationery a new lease of life. Over the past few years I have collected a variety of vintage greetings products, old children’s books and other related items such as playing cards and vintage ephemera. For me, the perfect way to pay tribute to and preserve these items of the past is to upcycle them into greeting cards, junk journals and mixed media projects. It gives me great pleasure to think that these items are being put to a new use and not being cast aside or thrown away.

So you might be wondering who is the person behind KaysVintageEphemera ? I’m a passionate creative soul who is a real romantic at heart. I live with my husband Martin, and we have a grown up daughter who flew the nest several years ago. When I’m not creating or working on Etsy I can be found pottering around the garden or hunting out new treasures at flea markets and antiques fairs. I do confess to being a bit of a crazy cat lady, sadly we lost our beautiful Tuxedo Cat Dave July 2021 but I’m the kind of person who has to stop and converse with every cat I see. My weekends are often spent touring the beautiful villages of Surrey, popping into Kent or meandering along the Sussex coast all whilst riding pillion on one of Martin’s collection of 1970’s motorcycles. I love Christmas, Easter and Halloween as it’s a real excuse to decorate the house and indulge in another pleasure which is my ever-growing collection of seasonal decorations.

Frequently asked questions

How will my items be posted and shipped ?

All my vintage paper ephemera, postcards and greetings cards will be packaged in board backed envelopes for posting.

Vintage books and larger items will be packaged in padded envelopes or boxes depending on the size.

I always try to recycle and re-use cardboard boxes whenever possible.

Will my order be shipped with tracking ?

Following on from the cyber attack on Royal Mail, January 10th 2023, I have now decided I need to ship all items with a value of £10 or more with tracking.

However, there are still a lot of items in my shop which ship with 2nd class standard postage, if you would like any of these lower priced items shipped using 1st class postage or tracked and signed for please message me before purchase so that I can organise the upgrade.

In addition please note that overseas / international deliveries are now taking longer to arrive and I need to ask you to wait at least six weeks before requesting help with orders that have not arrived. Thank you.

Which delivery service do you use ?

All the prices for shipping and postage quoted on my listings are for shipping with Royal Mail. As from 3rd April 2023 parcel shipping prices in particular have increased. If you would like me to get a quote from a different carrier please message me and I will be happy to do so, (please include a mobile number and email address with your message).

Do you ship to the EU ?

Unfortunately due to the recent introduction of EU packaging waste laws as of 1st January 2024 I am no longer able to ship to EU countries. Many apologies.
